This is the largest museum in Antwerp. The panoramic deck is special: freely accessible with a 360 view of the city. The museum is divided into different floors, each with its own theme. Such as: ‘party, food, shipping’. All themes are connected to the city.

Entrance tickets: 10 Euro for adults, free for kids. Closed on Mondays. Tip: the fifth floor has the best view of the artwork ‘dead?’: mosaic art in the square. The museum is nicely decorated. Photo Museum

Compact museum with some permanent exhibitions. There is plenty to do for kids on Sundays. During the holidays, young creatives can get started creating a ? of paper. The disadvantage of the museum is that not all exhibitions are equally accessible to kids. So check the agenda in advance. Still, our girls found it interesting, but it lacked the fun factor.

MHKA Antwerp

There is an enormous white silo in the South district. This is where the museum of modern art is housed: MHKA. A beautiful building from the outside and inside. And there is plenty to see and something for the children to do. There are temporary and permanent exhibitions. The best thing according to Pip and Juup?

There is a craft department. Pip: ‘Here we put on baroque-like costumes and made a mill collar. People wore this collar in the Middle Ages. The insect dress by artist Faber is also nice, but a bit strange. Tip: admission to the museums is free on the first Wednesday of the month.

Tip: visit Wijk Zuid

And if you are in the South district, be sure to walk around. The district is dotted with beautiful Art Nouveau buildings and crazy houses. South is a pleasant neighborhood with many squares and even playgrounds. Here too, it is bursting with nice eateries. So you never have to walk from one street to another on an empty stomach. This is very useful with kids. Weeekendje Antwerp with kids?…Reisachtig has more than enough tips.
