Staycation| Kamperen in Nederland

What can I do? Micro camping gives maximum holiday feeling!

Fancy a weekend away, or holiday close to home, but are all campsites already fully booked? And, like us, have you not been able to see family and friends for some time? Time for a staycation in the Netherlands: the ideal combination of visiting family and camping in your own country. Reisachtig puts it to the test and goes out with the tent. Nice and close and even next to your own home…

Camping with children in the garden

With a tent you are nice and flexible. You are not committed to anything, and you can go anywhere. After all, camping can be done in different places… even at home. Fun with and for kids. You know what’s even more fun? Camping with friends. That’s why daughters Pip and Juup invite some friends for an overnight stay at the ‘garden campsite’. No sooner said than done…
With a tent the size of a Boeing and a garden the size of a postage stamp, it was a question whether our new Coleman Octagon (8 person tent) would fit in the backyard. But with a bit of trial and error, this was achieved, so that the kids camping festival could start. After checking in our guests: Adriana, Ana and Belle, the family tent quickly turned into a party tent.

Camping pancake

Of course, a little camping ground has a glorious name. The garden accommodation was soon renamed Camping Pannenkoek! “Because we’re a bunch of pancakes together and it smells like pancakes in here.” Not surprising, because in ’the canteen’ holidaymakers are welcomed with a plate of steaming pancakes.

With toilet roll under my arm through the residential area

No, at this campsite you do not have to go to the small room with a toilet roll under your arm. At Camping Pannenkoek you run through the street with a toilet roll. That is, we play a self-invented game: toilet roll race. Of course, all that running and flying makes you quite overheated. Time for a bomb in the ice-cold water of the Vinkeveense plassen. As soon as the sun sets in the water, the young campers return home.Camping with kids

Swimming in VinkeveenDisco tent

One of the advantages of the Coleman Octagon 8 is the enormous interior space. Looks great! A polonaise and dance in a festival tent is always fun. It remains noisy at the campsite until the late hours. But every party comes to an end. The next morning the first taxi is already at the door. Too bad, but a Staycation with BBFs turned out to be a hit and is worth repeating.

Would you also like to stay near the Vinkeveense plassen?

  • This is possible, for example, at ’t Riviertje campsite .
  • What to do in the area? Rent a sloop from boat rental Bon and go out.
  • More about the Vinkeveense plassen ?
  • More activities nearby with kids? Go on  a microadventure.

Round NL

We have got a taste of camping and are ready for a tour of the Netherlands with the tent. Very easy to do. The compact Octagon is packed in a trolley and is therefore easy to carry. This heavy colossus is easy to assemble and disassemble, so you can get out and home quickly. Additional advantage: this way of celebrating a holiday is also free.

Off to grandpa’s farm campsite

Because grandpa lives further away: we don’t visit the Vechtdal that often. Nice spring weather is an excellent opportunity to change this. Grandpa Peter lives in the countryside and has a football field worth of space. In the middle of the meadow with a view of horses and sheep, this nature campsite is great for chilling out. While the girls play with dog Roos, Robbert and I have time to chat with Grandpa. With a drink in hand we enjoy the peace and conviviality.Coleman Octagon 8

Walking Vechtdal

Walk Vechtdal

Weekend in Vechtdal?

There is more than enough to do in the Overijsselse Vechtdal. This is a beautiful region to explore, especially during the summer holidays. What to do in the Vechtdal?

  • This area is ideal for a bike ride or walk. Earliersveld walking route is highly recommended. This is a beautiful route of approximately 5 km through forest, meadow and heathland. Or how about a hike through the Sahara? Yes, there is a real desert in Ommen… without cacti.

Special overnight stay in Wijk aan zee

Wijk aan Zee is located on the North Holland coast near IJmuiden. Friends Mea and René live by the sea in this coastal town. And they are right, it is a nice place to be, especially on a beautiful spring day. And so we set up camp in the garden and head straight for the beach. How wonderful it is here. The sun is shining, the wind is blowing. A place to always want to stay. Tip: at the end of May it is very chilly at night by the sea, June or July is a lot better.Beach Neighborhood by the sea

Weekend by the sea? Bring your tent!

  • What to do in Wijk aan Zee? Go kite surfing, kite flying, on the beach. You can have lunch and dinner at Aloha beach pavilion or Timbuktu beach club. The nicest beach tents in the Netherlands.
  • You can camp in IJmuiden at the Duindoorn campsite.

Where to stay in Holland?

Reisachtig will soon visit brother Paul in Brabant and friends in Bergen. But there are still so many special places in our country. What are the most beautiful places in the Netherlands? Say it! Who knows, we may soon land near you. So what if you still have a field left? Our Octagon 8 fits almost everywhere :). Tip: love country accommodation? Check Vekabo.nl. Staatsbosbeheer also has beautiful nature campsites.

Best family tent?

The Octagon 8 from Coleman is highly recommended. The benefits in a nutshell:

  • There’s a real door in it!
  • Unique ‘opening windows with mosquito screens’.
  • The tent can be divided into different rooms by means of a curtain.
  • Tent at standing height.
  • Spacious, made for the whole family.
  • Includes trolley, so easy to take with you. More information?
